Nintendo Files European Trademark For N64 Controller

by Matthew Kato on Jul 20, 2017 at 09:50 AM

NeoGAF forum poster Rösti has found a Nintendo trademark application in the EU (dated July 18) for graphical representations of Nintendo controllers – including the N64.

This was previously done for the NES and SNES, which have subsequently received mini systems, so the belief is that Nintendo may be gearing up for an N64 mini in the future as well.

Of course, trademarks are often filed that never lead to anything, so who knows.

Our Take
As many people have already pointed out, with Rare now owned by Microsoft, would that prevent any Rare-developed titles such as GoldenEye 007 or Banjo-Kazooie from appearing on a N64 mini system?
