Cult Classic Windjammers Gets PS4 And Vita Release Date
DotEmu, the French developer behind adaptions of classics such as the Double Dragon trilogy and several Final Fantasy titles, has announced that Windjammers is releasing later this summer.
DotEmu concluded its closed beta in June which, along with input from pro players in the French Windjammers community, provided significant feedback for redeveloping the disc-based arcade game. Along with features from the original game, DotEmu has integrated an online multiplayer experience, allowing players to compete against friends or challenge the world's best Windjammers players in Ranked Mode.

Windjammers is set to release on August 29 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. For more, head to the original Windjammers announcement at last year's PSX.

Windjammers has been back on the gaming scene since Giant Bomb gave it the 2013 Old Game of the Year award, and it looks as if DotEmu is taking all the right steps to stay true to the original design. The multiplayer addition could spur notable growth for the Windjammers community if done right.
