Weekend Warrior – What To Watch, What To Watch
I know this is a website about playing video games, but there is a hell of a lot of good stuff to watch this weekend. Evolution, this biggest fighting game tournament of the year, is happening, and Suriel is out there writing something super special. The new season of Game of Thrones, the biggest thing ever, premieres Sunday, which will be cool. Plus, Disney's D23 expo (basically E3 but for Disney) is happening, and Square Enix is showing off a new Kingdom Hearts world! Plus there's news about Star Wars, Marvel and other semi-video game-related things to look forward to. And then there's a bunch of cool movies out, like Spider-Man: Homecoming. So yeah, take your pick. Let's check in and see what the staff's doing this weekend...
Brian Shea (@BrianPShea) – Persona 5 is such a long game that Persona 5 is all I know at this point. I have become Persona 5.
Javy Gwaltney (@HurdyIV) – I’m spending this weekend playing my Switch, and hopefully finishing off Yakuza 0 while I eat takeout ramen.
Ben Hanson (@yozetty) – This weekend I’m going to hopefully play more PUBG, I’ve been away from my sweet for far too long. Other than that, I might play a bit more Dirt 4 and hopefully finish off replaying Metal Gear Rising. Have a good weekend!
Kyle Hilliard (@KyleMHilliard) – I was busy traveling most of this week, so I look forward to not doing that for a little while. I want to play more Nier: Automata, but I have gotten pretty caught up in My Hero Academia lately, so that might actually take priority over playing games this weekend. I am also looking forward to the return of Game of Thrones and maybe Spider-Man: Homecoming, if I can convince my daughter it’s cool. I lost that battle with Wonder Woman, sadly.
Doug DeLong (@DeLongDoug) – This weekend I’m finally going to start going through the games I picked up on the Steam Summer Sale. First up: Salt and Sanctuary.
Jared Koncsol (@JaredKoncsol) – I just finished Wolfenstein: The New Order and now I'm considering playing through Bloodborne again. I have a friend coming in this weekend and we're going to go to the Up-Down arcade bar. I've never been to a Beercade before, so I'm pretty pumped.
Craig Taylor (@CraigTaylor0805) – I'm going to be consumed with Evo and D23 with weekend. Sadly it's the last year for Marvel 3 at Evo, so I'll be paying my respects for my favorite stream game of all time (and I suggest you do the same). I'll also probably forget to watch Game of Thrones until my friend group chat spoils something for me. Other than that I might squeeze in a few rounds of Payday 2 which I picked up on an Xbox summer sale.
