Red Bull To Host Capcom Pro Tour North American Finals
After hosting its own Proving Grounds event a few weeks ago, Red Bull is partnering with Capcom once again to host the Red Bull Battle Grounds, which will act as the North American Finals of the Capcom Pro Tour later this year.
Announced that the Capcom panel at this year's Evo tournament, the North American Finals will take place in Boston's Castle venue, and will take place on November 18 and 19. Unlike the Proving Grounds' three-on-three team format, Battle Grounds will use a more conventional standard. On Saturday, 512 competitors will compete in an open bracket for the final spot in the top eight, the rest of which will be determined by Capcom Pro Tour's various regional finals. On Sunday, those top eight competitors will compete for the North American title.

Last year's Battle Grounds found a nice medium between the grassroots energy of fighting game events and the more toned-down professional esport events. Hopefully this year's does the same.
