Indie Game Polybius Gets Featured In New Nine Inch Nails Music Video

by Ben Reeves on Jul 13, 2017 at 07:42 PM

Its no secret that vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Trent Reznor is a fan of video games. The musician wrote the original music for id Software's 1996 shooter Quake for a start. However, his newest music video for an EP “Less Than” features the recent arcade-style game Polybius.

Polybius was originally and urban legend about an arcade game from the 1980s that reportedly induced nausea and headaches in anyone who played it. Jeff Minter, known for his work on making several Tempest-like games including Space Giraffe and TxK, worked on this new version of Polybius for PSVR, and the game is now featured in NIN's newest video for “Less Than." Check it out below.

It's interesting to note that Polybius is currently a PSVR exclusive, but Trent Reznor was so taken with the game that he called up the developer so he could get one of the only copies of the game's PC version to include in the video.
