PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Getting Spawn Adjustments And New Guns

by Joe Juba on Jun 26, 2017 at 06:20 PM

An update is coming soon for the hit multiplayer shooter PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, and the biggest changes involve correcting mistakes in various spawn rates.

According to a developer post on Steam, a bug was causing certain items to appear too frequently – or not frequently enough – for their tiers. That will be fixed with the new update. For instance, the UMP will appear less often, while the UZI will appear more often.

The post also details the addition of a few new weapons, including the Groza (pictured above), which can only be obtained in care packages. Another new gun, a 9mm pistol with full auto mode, will spawn in the world.

Our Take
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is still in early access, so adjustments like this are to be expected during the development process. Maybe this isn't on top of the list of the things that need to be addressed with the experience, but with so many players enjoying this game, everyone is going to have different ideas about what changes should take the highest priority.
