Project Rap Rabbit Video Shows Prototype Gameplay Of A Rapping Rabbit

by Jeff Cork on Jun 09, 2017 at 10:38 AM

A few weeks back, the creators of PaRappa the Rapper and Gitaroo Man revealed their new collaboration on Kickstarter, a game with the working title Project Rap Rabbit. With 10 days left in the the fundraising effort, the team is now showing off a prototype of what the game might look like.

The clip – which is a not-even-close-to-final look at the game – features a rap battle between a villainous snake, Mamushi Chinpira, and our eponymous hero. The lyrics aren't final, and they're rapped by iNis' Keiichi Yano, but they show off how players will be able to choose some of the verses that they perform.

There are 10 days left in the Kickstarter, and as of now it's raised close to $177,000. That's far short of the $1,090,173 goal, so if you want to actually play this thing at some point, you may want to consider backing the project.

Our Take
It's easy to call things from the sidelines, but I can't help but wonder why they didn't post this video sooner. If it wasn't ready until this late in the Kickstarter, that's a little worrisome.
