Weekend Warrior – Heads Firmly Lodged In Our Backlogs
The weekend is back already, and for us that means Overwatch, fighting games, and shameless plugs (looking at you Hanson). With E3 approaching, we're trying frantically to complete our backlogs before the grandiose promise of new games overcomes us. Then, as we wait for those games to come to fruition, we will look to our backlogs and shout "Save us!" and they'll whisper "no."
Brian Shea (@BrianPShea) – This weekend I’m going to play Injustice 2 and Tekken 7, while continuing to feed my obsessions for Overwatch and Persona 5.
Ben Hanson (@yozetty) – Oh man! This weekend I’m sure I’ll play more PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. Have you seen that game? Have you heard about that game? Other than that, I’m going to be playing through the first Portal I suppose for our new Game Club! Play along and send in your brilliant thoughts to podcast@gameinformer.com!
Kyle Hilliard (@KyleMHilliard) – I have been trying to convince my daughter we should go see Wonder Woman without much success. The trailers have shown too much fighting for her liking. I guess I will just have to play Portal for our upcoming Game Club, and play more Nier: Automata. That’s right – MORE Nier: Automata. I finally started playing last weekend. I saw the first ending, but I hear the third one is the charm, so I hope to play at least another two times.
Jeff Cork (@gijeff) – I started playing Ghost Recon: Wildlands the other day, and I’ve been having a lot of fun. I played the demo when it came out, and that early look didn’t do the finished game any favors. In particular, the physics on the vehicles were floaty and awful. It looks like it’s going to be a long haul, and I doubt that I’ll be able to power through it all without bouncing between a few other games. Maybe this weekend I’ll get into Overwatch’s competitive play. If nothing else, I can get my placement rounds finished…
Craig Taylor (@CraigTaylor0805) – I’ve been grinding through the Kingdom Hearts series, so I’m going to start Kingdom Hearts II this weekend. I also bought Symphony of the Night on Xbox Live for a cool $2.50, so I might sneak that in somewhere as well.
Douglas Delong (@DeLongDoug) – This weekend I’ll be continuing my adventure through Breath of the Wild. Well, I hope I can start playing it more like an adventure and less like a chore – my completionist tendency currently has me methodically checking every nook and cranny for Korok seeds even though I haven’t made my way to the forest to spend them yet. I have a feeling this game is going to keep me occupied for the next few Weekend Warriors.
Jared Koncsol (@JaredKoncsol) – I finally started Horizon: Zero Dawn yesterday and almost called in sick today because of it. So this weekend, I'll be taking down some machines and anyone or anything else that gets in the way of my time with the game.
