Super Meat Boy, Binding Of Isaac Creator Teases New Project

by Suriel Vazquez on May 13, 2017 at 03:21 PM

Since its release in 2010, Super Meat Boy has become one of the most celebrated platformers in recent memory. The Binding of Isaac has similarly become a regular staple in many players' roguelike lineup, receiving updates as recently as yesterday. So what's next from creator of both, Edmund McMillen? We may find out soon.

In the post detailing the game's most recent update, McMillen also dropped a few bits of information on his next project, which he and fellow developer Tyler Glaiel have been plugging away on hard for the last three months. "We are coming close to announcing it and its release date, so keep and eye out for it," said McMillen. "I dont [sic] want to spoil the fun yet but i can say this. its hard, its weird, its personal, its has amazing controls, its a totally new unannounced IP and its easily one of the largest games ive ever made level wise."

Hopefully, we'll hear more from McMillen sooner rather than later.

Our Take
I'm not a fan of Binding of Isaac, but I liked Super Meat Boy, so I'm curious to see where McMillen's heading with his next game. As far as announcement timing goes, my money's on E3.
