Dynasty Warriors 9 Officially Announced
Koei Tecmo has announced Dynasty Warriors 9 for release at an unspecified time and platforms, and this latest entry (developed once again by Omega Force) takes its core hack 'n' slash mechanics to an open world.
The game features dynamic day/night and weather cycles as players explore the map and its varied environments. There are both critical and regular missions to tackle utilizing 83 characters from the series' history, and the game itself plays out at the end of the Han dynasty and on the cusp of the Three Kingdoms era.
Our Take
It will be interesting to see how developer Omega Force uses its experience with titles like Dragon Quest Heroes II and Hyrule Warriors, and how that may shape this flagship franchise which hasn't had a main, numbered entry since 2013.
