Call Of Duty: Black Ops III – Zombie Chronicles Remasters Eight Classic Zombies Maps

by Brian Shea on May 04, 2017 at 03:35 PM

Jason Blundell, co-studio head of Treyarch (the developer behind the Black Ops trilogy), has announced the newest zombie-related DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops III. The announcement comes via a guest appearance on YouTuber JCbackfire's channel. The pack features eight maps from games as early as World at War, when the beloved Zombies mode originally debuted in the series.

"A lot of our fans have come in later... have come in at, like, Black Ops II or even Black Ops III," Blundell told JCbackfire on his video. "So those early storyline kind of concepts and those early maps that really set down the foundation for Zombies... a lot of people hadn't experienced them, or they kind of experienced them in little bits and bobs in different places."

The pack features the following classic maps recreated in Black Ops III:

  • Nacht Der Untoten (World at War)
  • Verruckt (World at War)
  • Shi No Numa (World at War)
  • Kino der Toten (Black Ops)
  • Ascension (Black Ops)
  • Shangri-La (Black Ops)
  • Moon (Black Ops)
  • Origins (Black Ops II)

Blundell calls the remakes "faithful," stating that it was important to remain authentic to the original experiences. You can see the full discussion between Blundell and JCbackfire below.

You can also head to Call of Duty's site for a timeline that you can explore. Zombies Chronicles hits PlayStation 4 first on May 16.
