First Expansion For Breath Of The Wild Will Include Majora's Mask Armor And Horde Mode
Nintendo just revealed details for the upcoming The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild DLC. The most sizable nugget of news is that the 1st expansion will include a Horde Mode called Trial By The Sword:
Trial of the Sword
When you get to a certain sacred location, you can take on the new "Trial of the Sword" challenge. Face an onslaught of enemies, one wave after another. Link starts the challenge without any equipment or weapons. When all the enemies in a room are defeated, Link proceeds to the next. Clear all the trials (about 45 rooms in total), and the true power of the Master Sword awakens.
The expansion pack will include 8 new chests filled with armor pieces for players to find, several of them referencing other Legend of Zelda games. The armors include:
- Majora's mask
- Tingle's Outfit
- Midna's Helmet
- Phantom Armor
- Korok Mask
The first expansion will also have a Hard Mode as well as a 'Travel Medallion,' which lets you place a single fast travel marker anywhere on the map. There's also a neat looking feature called "Hero's Path," which shows how far Link has traveled on the map during the past 200 hours of gameplay via a green squiggly line.
The first DLC arrives this summer and is part of the expansion pass, retailed at $19.99. You can find out the full details for the expansion over at Nintendo's website.
