New Legend Of Zelda, Pikmin, And Splatoon 2 Amiibos Shown During Nintendo Direct

by Jordan Leendertsen on Apr 12, 2017 at 05:37 PM

Nintendo announced several new Amiibos today, as well as revealed release dates for a few we already knew were coming via Nintendo Direct.

First, three new Link Amiibos will be arriving on June 23, based on designs from Majora's Mask, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword.

July 21st is going to be a big day for Amiibo hunters, as a total of nine new Amiibo will be dropping. The first three, Inkling Boy, Inkling Girl, and Inkling Squid will be launching alongside Splatoon 2, aand each comes with their own functionality in the game.

On the same day, figures for Cloud, Bayonetta, and Corrin will drop, each with two different variations. Cloud comes in his original outfit and an Advent Children variant, while Bayonetta features outfits from Bayonetta and it's sequel. It should be noted that some of these variants will be retailer exclusive, though it is not detailed which retailers will have which characters.

Finally, a new Pikmin Amiibo will be dropping alongside Hey, Pikmin! on July 28th.

Amiibos continue to do big business for Nintendo, who has continued to put additional functionality for the figures in their games. For a look at how the recently released Breath of the Wild handled Amiibo inclusion particularly well, you can click right here.
