[Update] Yooka-Laylee Will Not Support Play Anywhere On Xbox One, Windows 10 Version 'Coming Soon'

by Suriel Vazquez on Apr 08, 2017 at 09:49 PM

Update 4/9/17: Team 17 has informed us that the game will not support the Play Anywhere feature, despite the original Xbox Wire post's claims. Additionally, the Windows 10 version of the game is now listed as "coming soon."

Original Story: Yooka-Laylee, a game that does some neat things with the genre it's throwing back to (or so I've heard) seems to adopt at least one cool feature of its spiritual predecessor, Banjo-Kazooie: The Stop 'n' Swap. Sort of.

Okay, you (probably) won't be able to take anything from Yooka-Laylee into whatever game developer Playtonic Games makes next. But if you buy the game on Xbox One or Windows 10, you'll be able to "stop" playing on one system then "swap" to the other using Microsoft's Live Anywhere feature, which Microsoft has confirmed the title will support "soon." That's close enough to an Ice Key, right?
