Marvel Announces 'New Warriors' TV Series Featuring Squirrel Girl

by Jordan Leendertsen on Apr 05, 2017 at 12:50 PM

Marvel announced today that it is producing a comedy TV show based on The New Warriors series, featuring fan-favorite character Squirrel Girl, as well as five other young adult superheroes who are trying to balance heroics with regular life. The series is set to have 10 episodes (which run around 30 minutes) and is slated to launch sometime in 2018.

Other than the announcement, little is known about the series at the moment, including whether or not it will take place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The show is being produced by Freeform, the same studio behind the Cloak and Dagger TV series, and is Marvel's first stab at comedy on television. You can read the whole announcement right here.

In other recent Marvel news, there has been some contention about whether the PS4's Spider-Man game will be arriving later this year, which you can read about here. Today it was announced that the Marvel-themed MMO Marvel Heroes hits consoles later this year, which you can read about right here.
