Weekend Warrior – (Not) Switching It Up

by Manon Hume on Mar 17, 2017 at 02:00 PM

With more Nintendo Switches on the way, plenty left to discover in Horizon Zero Dawn, and Mass Effect's siren call ringing in our ears, we're perfectly happy to stay right where we are this St. Patrick's Day weekend. (There was a disappointing amount of green in the office today, by the way, but thankfully even less pinching.)

What are your plans for the weekend? Beauty and the Beast? Harry Potter board games? Or will you be hunkering down with your Switch like the rest of us? Let us know in the comments below!

Ben Hanson (@yozetty) – This weekend I want to not only play a lot of Zelda, but actually lick and then crawl inside my TV and live in Hyrule. If you can help with this mission, please send an email to hanson@gameinformer.com.

Brian Shea (@BrianPShea) – I’m still playing a ton of Breath of the Wild. As usual, I’ll take breaks for Overwatch and Pokémon Go, but Zelda is totally my main focus this weekend.

Javy Gwaltney (@HurdyIV) – Oh hi there everyone. I’m going to be kicking back with a bottle of bourbon, some pizza, and playing through both Nier:A and Breath of The Wild. It’s going to be wonderful.

Kyle Hilliard (@KyleMHilliard) – I’m still playing Zelda. We’re on borderline absurd levels of discovery here. There’s no reason that, after 100 hours, I should still be finding new, interesting things every time I play. The other thing I am doing this weekend? Taxes. It’s going to be thrilling.

Kristin Williams (@kristincreate) –  I’m rushing to finish up Horizon Zero Dawn and get through Iron Fist this weekend so I can have a clear schedule for some game coming out next Tuesday that involves exploring space.  And romancing aliens.

Manon Hume (@ManonHume) – I just can't stop playing Horizon Zero Dawn. I'd say send help, but I don't want to be saved. <3

Zak Wojnar (@ZakWojnar) – I devoured Journey this week. I didn’t think much of it as I played, but it stuck with me for days, which is, I suppose, why the game is so special to its many fans.

I’ve got three days left on my free month of Final Fantasy XIV, so I’ll be playing that tonight. I’m about 20 hours into Yakuza 0 (Goro is my best friend, but I have a sinking feeling that the other boot is bound to drop, so to speak), so when I’m not roaming the wildlands of Eorzea, I’ll be exploring the mean streets of 1980s Japan. Yeah, my gaming progress is still pitifully slow, but I’m enjoying myself and working hard, so give me a break! Get off my back!

My brother didn’t want to invest in a Switch quite yet, but he decided it was the right time to get a Wii U and Breath of the Wild, and who am I to argue with that? Therefore, Zelda might just be the first game I play once my Minnesota odyssey comes to an end.

Ooh, and Iron Fist is out this week, which means I really have to get around to watching the last eight episodes of Luke Cage. Gonna try to fit Finding Dory in there at some point, but no promises.
