Telltale CEO Kevin Bruner Steps Down

by Suriel Vazquez on Mar 16, 2017 at 08:30 AM

Kevin Bruner, who co-founded and has led adventure game developer Telltale for the past few years, has stepped down from the company.

Bruner took over the role of CEO from fellow co-founder Dan Conners in 2015, overseeing the development of games like Minecraft: Story Mode, The Walking Dead: Michonne, and Batman: The Telltale Series. Bruner will be staying on the board of directors as the role transitions back to Conners.

This comes after news of the departure of four Telltale employees, who headed to Ubisoft to work on narratives for the latter's future projects.

In a statement to Game Informer, Telltale Head of Creative Communications Job Stauffer said "With Kevin departing, Telltale is fortunate to have Dan here to step back seamlessly into the CEO role."

Our Take
With The Walking Dead: Frontier still underway and both Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series and Game of Thrones: Season Two on the way, it'll be interesting to see how the company evolves with Conners at the helm.
