BlizzCon 2017 Dates Announced

by Zak Wojnar on Mar 14, 2017 at 10:45 AM

The Anaheim Convention Center has always hosted BlizzCon, a two-day celebration of the games of Blizzard. Twelve years after the first event way back in 2005, Blizzard has announced the dates for BlizzCon 2017.

The annual event will be held on November 3 and 4. Tickets cost $199 and go on sale in two batches, on April 5 and April 8. Additionally, there will be a BlizzCon benefit dinner on November 2, with net proceeds going to the Children's Hospital of Orange County. Tickets to the dinner cost $750.

Previous years have featured exclusive announcements, eSports competitions, developer panels, and live music. There's no reason to expect anything less from 2017's event, especially considering the enduring popularity of titles like Overwatch and Heroes of the Storm, not to mention long-running staples like Starcraft 2 and World of Warcraft.

Our Take
BlizzCon has always closed with a high-energy musical performance. Previous years have featured such bands as Tenacious D, Metallica, and Foo Fighters. 2016's closing ceremony was anchored by a performance from the great one himself, "Weird" Al Yankovic. It's literally impossible for 2017's show to top that, but we're still excited to learn who will headline the closing ceremony of BlizzCon 2017.
