A New Way To Play Rocket League

by Matthew Kato on Mar 13, 2017 at 04:33 AM

Rocket League developer Psyonix is planning a free update to the game on March 22, introducing a new mode for the already-addictive game – Dropshot.

Dropshot removes the standard goals, instead tasking players to score by breaking panels in their opponents' floor and then dropping the electrified ball in. The first time the ball hits a panel it activates it, and the second time breaks it. The ball itself also gets stronger via multiple battle-car hits, enabling it to damage up to 19 panels at once.

Along with Dropshot, the update also introduces a speed-themed Turbo crate, the fourth competitive season, new arenas, and much more. Click the links below for the update's full contents, and enjoy the Dropshot trailer.
