by Kyle Hilliard on Mar 09, 2017 at 05:50 AM

Sharefactory, the PlayStation 4's video editing software received an update today that makes it much more versatile.

The big update is that you can now add your own video and images to your Sharfactory videos. You just need USB flash drive containing those files to make it happen. You can also clone clips now, making the process of editing certain types of videos much faster. You can see a bullet-point of list of the newly added features below.

  • Added over 30 textures you can use to personalize your text as well as the ability to freely scale your text
  • New Infomercial Sharefactory Theme
  • New Photo Mode collages with support for up to 16 images
  • New Photo Mode Templates
  • New stickers
  • Contextual Help has now been added throughout Sharefactory
  • Updates to the UI

According to the PlayStation Blog, Sharefactory 2.50 should be available soon if it is not already.

Our Take
With the ability to import your own stuff, Sharefactory could essentially just become a standard video editor for those not interested in going down the Premiere/Final Cut rabbit hole. I'm curious to see what players do with it.
