Puzzle Adventure Game Rime Gets May 26 Release Date

by Elise Favis on Mar 08, 2017 at 05:13 AM

Rime, an adventure game from developer Tequila Works, was first unveiled back in 2013. After a long road of delays and shuffling publishers, the game is finally back on track towards its May release. Today, Tequila Works announced a more specific release date: May 26.

In Rime, you play as a young boy who washes up on the shore of a strange island filled with secrets. You traverse this island with the help of a fox companion who subtly guides you, while you solve puzzles along the way.

At launch, Rime will be priced at $29.99 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Later this summer, it will arrive for Nintendo Switch for $39.99. Rime will have both a digital and physical release across these platforms.

Last month, we got the chance to try the game hands-on, and you can check out our impressions in this video. Rime is also listed as one of our most anticipated adventure games of 2017.

Our Take
Rime was out of the spotlight for years, and when Tequila reacquired the rights of the game from Sony in 2016, some saw it as a warning sign that not all was well. However, after sitting down to play the game last month, I came away impressed with Rime and excited to play more. It's been a long time coming, but I hope the game does well and that the finished product will be a fun adventure to play.
