Significant Nerfs For Overwatch's Ana Are In Sight

by Daniel Tack on Mar 07, 2017 at 06:01 AM

On Overwatch's Public Test Realm, new hero changes are going live, the most significant of which take aim at the support sniper Ana. These nerfs look fairly profound, with values being tweaked on several critical abilities. Ana's rifle damage will be dropped from 80 to 60, and her biotic grenade damage and healing is being cut in half, from 60 to 30 on the damage front and 100 to 50 on the healing front.

Other changes of note: Junkrat won't injure himself from his own explosions, and Sombra can actually stealth in silence if foes are sufficiently far away.

Our Take
Ana's changes will leave players that enjoy playing her and her teammates saying "Ouch!" but as with any constantly changing competitive game, it's probably best to wait and see what these tweaks do on live servers - if they ever even make it off the PTR. However, it's a good indicator that Blizzard feels Ana needs some serious changes to be brought in line. I need healing.
