What To Watch This Weekend: Counter-Strike, Super Smash Bros., And For Honor

by Suriel Vazquez on Mar 04, 2017 at 04:30 AM

You probably have your hands full playing either Horizon Zero Dawn or Breath of the Wild, but that's no excuse to not watch something this weekend. You can play the Switch in tablet mode while watching any of the fun events going on this weekend, and you can do it with Horizon too, if you have a Vita or, like, a second TV in your living room. Like a good eSport, you gotta work for it!

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is in Katowice, Poland this weekend for the finale to its Intel Extreme Masters tournament, which will offer a $250,000 prize pool. (Stream and Schedule

Tagging along in Katowice is StarCraft 2, which will have its own tournament at the event all weekend long. (Stream / Schedule)

Meanwhile, Blizzard is hosting a tournament for its other big isometric eSport, Heroes of the Storm, in the HGC Western Clash, an exhibition tournament featuring top talent from the region. (Stream and Schedule)

Though it doesn't take place over the weekend, For Honor has been having what might be its first professional tournament series on Mondays, and will continue on 'till the end of the month. If you've been playing the game casually but wondered how the best players block, evade, and jump off bridges on accident (that's a pro move, right?) here's your chance. (Stream / Schedule

If Super Smash Bros. Melee is more your thing, Beyond the Summit will be hosting its regular Smash Summit tournament, pitting top players from around the world against each in other in a venue that looks like your rich aunt's summer home. (Stream / Schedule)

If you're looking for Some Super Street Fighter V, Guilty Gear Xrd: Revelator, Mortal Kombat X, or The King of Fighters XIV action, you can watch the Canada East Championships, which will have tournaments for those games and more live from Ontario. (Streams and Schedule)

Of course, the League of Legends Spring Split is still going on (and will be for a while), so you can catch up on the all the latest matches this weekend. (Europe Stream / Europe Schedule / North America Stream / North America Schedule)

Smite's own Spring Split continues as well, and should offer a respite from anyone tired of League's Spring Split but still looking for something to Split. (Stream)

That's it for this weekend! Let us know if we missed anything you'd like to see highlighted below, and have a great weekend!
