What To Watch This Weekend: Super Smash Bros., Hearthstone, and Battlerite

As Splits, regionals, and other qualifying tournaments come continue this weekend, we should also be in for some great fighting game shooter action, as well as some more high-minded looks at the future. Also, Battlerite!

If you're looking for less eSports and more high-minded commentary, Kill Screen is having their Versions conference this weekend, taking a look at the future of Virtual Reality all this weekend. (Stream and Schedule)
 
After last week's America's Winter Playoffs, the Asia-Pacific playoffs for the HCT in Hearthstone will take place this weekend starting tonight at around 8pm and will determine who will move on the March's $250,000 Winter Championship. (Stream / Schedule)
 
The Super Smash Bros. Community is having to big tournaments this weekend: First, the second annual Frostbite Tournament, which will host Super Smash Bros. For Wii U exclusively (Stream / Schedule) and Tampa Never Sleeps 7, which will have both For Wii U and Melee, as well as a number of other fighting game tournaments. In other fighting game event news, we have the Cannes Winter Clash 2017 (Streams / Schedule) and Naptown City Clutch VI (Stream 1 / Stream 2 / Stream 3 / Schedule), both of which will be hosting tournaments for Street Fighter V, Mortal Kombat X, Guilty Gear Xrd, The King of Fighters XIV, and more.
 
Battlerite seems to be building some momentum in the competitive space, as the Enter The Arena tournament hopes to provide some high-level play for the top-down shooter/MOBA hybrid. (Stream / Schedule)
 
The League of Legends Spring Split continues unabated this weekend. Watch teams from North America, Europe, and more fight it out for a spot at the MId-Season Invitational. (Europe Stream / Europe Schedule / North America Stream / North America Schedule)

Smite's own split series continues this weekend, which will offer teams a chance to prove themselves in the Spring Finals Event. Matches begin at 12pm Central (Stream).
 
After months of qualfiers and playoffs rounds, the Overwatch Oceanic Summer Series concludes this weekend, and will determine who the best team in the Southern hemisphere is. (Stream / Schedule)
 
Following last week's qualifiers in London, this week's round of Halo 5: Guardians World Championship Qualifiers will take place in Mexico City, offering a $20,000 prize pool and an invitation to compete in the world finals. (Stream / Schedule)
