Stranger Things Season 2 Storyline Unveiled
One of Netflix's surprise hits in 2016 was Stranger Things, the fusion of John Carpenter's horror sensibilities with the sense of childlike wonder evoked by Steven Spielberg's best films, all set in a nostalgic version of the 1980s which stopped just short of being shamelessly exploitative.
Season 2 was announced last year, and now we finally have details on what the new episodes will be about. According to Entertainment Weekly, the next batch of episodes will be set one year after the show's freshman outing and deal with the fallout of the events of that season. The boys will struggle to return to living normal lives, though we can't imagine there won't be some bumps on their road to happiness. To that end, showrunners Matt and Ross Duffer are promising that new monsters will emerge from the rift to the Upside Down, although they are looking to broaden the scope of the series with "different kinds of horror."
Season 2 of Stranger Things is set to debut this Halloween, exclusively on Netflix.
