Stardew Valley Getting Physical, Collector's Edition In April

by Kimberley Wallace on Feb 03, 2017 at 10:05 AM

Stardew Valley was one of Game Informer's top 50 games in 2016, winning our best simulation game award. The farming simulator, reminiscent of the earlier Harvest Moon games, originally launched on PC and just recently made its way to console. However, up until this point, the game has only been available for digital download. That's about to change.

Today, Chucklefish, which helped developer ConcernedApe launch the game on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, announced that with the help of 505 Games, the game is getting its own physical copy you can pick up at retailers. This collector's edition contains the following bonuses:

  • Mini-Guidebook
  • Pelican Town Map
  • Stardew Valley OST

The edition will be available starting April 11 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. You can watch the retail announcement below for more information.

Since its launch, Stardew Valley has sold over two million copies. To learn more about it, you can read our glowing review or check out Jeff M.'s recent humor column about how he can't stop playing it

Our Take
Stardew Valley is awesome, especially if you grew up with the Harvest Moon games, so it's nice to see it get more exposure on retail shelves. These days, more and more games are digital only, but for those who want to have something physical to remember them by, I like collector's editions like this.
