Reader Discussion – What Square Series Would You Like To See As An Avengers Game?
The recent news that Square Enix and Marvel are partnering up to produce an Avengers game (among other projects) raises a number of questions: Does this mean the Avengers will be a part Kingdom Hearts III? Will Final Fantasy XV get Squirrel Girl DLC? Will Daredevil star in his own Deus Ex-style game? Will we ever get a sequel to The World Ends With You? Sorry, any mention of Square Enix brings up that last one for me.
A question more to the point, though: what current Square Enix series would best map onto the Avengers? I'd personally like to see a Black Widow game in the style of the recent Hitman; a small city filled with people you can rummage through for information about your next target. The espionage angle seems to be a part of the opener of a few Marvel films (such as the second Avengers film and Captain America: Civil War) that I want to see what the longform version of that would look like. And then, of course, when you got spotted, you'd switch control over to The Hulk and start wrecking the whole place.
So what game Square series or game would you like to see transformed into an Avengers game? Avengers ASSEMBLE(GO)? Vision's Fantasy? Lara Croft and the Guardians of the Galaxy (okay, that's not an Avengers thing. But the name's too good to pass up)?
