Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants In Manhattan Pulled From Digital Stores

by Javy Gwaltney on Jan 05, 2017 at 08:34 AM

Platinum's attempt at making a TMNT game was released back in May. Not even a year later and it's apparently been removed from all digital storefronts. The game is unavailable on PlayStation Store, Xbox Games, Amazon, and Steam as well as other storefronts.

Kyle Hilliard reviewed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan for us and didn't care too much for it, scoring it a 6 and saying:

Fighting, moving, and pulling off cooperative attacks as the Turtles is enjoyable, but it’s difficult to find fun in the world and routine in which they exist. Attempts to encourage replayability fall flat as the bonuses you receive do little to change your characters or make them stronger. A few moments of cooperative fun arise periodically, but after taking down the bosses, I had little desire to strap on a colorful mask and spend way too long taking down a boss I had already dispatched.

We've reached out to Activision for a comment on why the game's been removed and will update the article accordingly if we hear back.

Our Take
Wow. That was fast. And also another disconcerting example of why digital storefronts for games might not always be the best.
