Valkyria Revolution Coming To The West With New Name & Console In Tow

by Matthew Kato on Dec 14, 2016 at 03:57 AM

Former PS4-exclusive RPG Valkyria: Azure Revolution (as it's known in its native Japan) is coming to these shores next year as Valkyria Revolution, and the Xbox One has been added to its list of platforms.

The game is slated to come out sometime in the second quarter of 2017 on the PS4, Xbox One, and Vita (digital release only).

As the name implies, Revolution is set in the same universe as Valkyria Chronicles but has its own characters, world/time period, and gameplay mechanics.

Revolution centers around five friends – The Circle of Five – who lead their country in resistance against an imperialist oppressor, and must defeat the powerful Valkyrur Brunhilde. However, not everything is as it seems.

Sega says the game has a new battle system that mixes strategy with real-time combat – ditching the turn-based battles of the original – with players managing combos and tactics.
