Minecraft Is Coming To Apple TV This Year

by Ian Boudreau on Oct 27, 2016 at 11:08 AM

Minecraft will be available on tvOS-powered Apple TVs by the year's end, the company announced during its keynote today.

Apple CEO Tim Cook mentioned Minecraft while discussing the 8,000 apps available on the Apple TV, which he said includes more than 2,000 games.

Cook said players will be able to build Minecraft worlds on their Apple TV and play with friends across Apple devices, such as iPads and iPhones.

Microsoft purchased Minecraft and publisher Mojang in 2014 for $2.5 billion.
