Suda 51's The Silver Case Is Coming To PlayStation 4

by Michael Leri on Oct 20, 2016 at 09:41 AM

If you were waiting for the Japan-exclusive PlayStation 1 game, The Silver Case, to be released in English, then your wait is almost over. The game recently saw an HD remaster on PC, and is getting the same treatment for the PlayStation 4 in the form of a physical and digital release slated for early 2017.

This visual novel/adventure game hybrid puts you in the shoes of a member of the Special Forces Unit as you investigate a string of murders. While he was relatively unknown at the time, it was Suda51's first game that he made under Grasshopper Manufacture Inc. Suda51 is now known for his bizarre but divisive titles like Killer7, No More Heroes, Shadows of the Damned, Lollipop Chainsaw, and more.

For a longer look at recently-released PC version of The Silver Case, check out Game Informer's hour-long Replay here. This PS4 remaster will release in North America and Europe.

Our Take
If you're like me and you've only really played Suda51's more recent games, then this remaster may be worth a look. The Silver Case was pre-Killer7, which is where most people probably heard of him.
