Red Dead Redemption 2 Coming Fall 2017

by Matt Bertz on Oct 18, 2016 at 03:43 AM

We've waited years for Rockstar to announce its first gaming title fully dedicated to the processing power of the current console generation. Today Rockstar revealed Red Dead Redemption 2 is heading to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in Fall 2017.

According to the press release, Red Dead Redemption 2 is "an epic tale of life in America’s unforgiving heartland. The game's vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience."

"With Red Dead Redemption 2, the team is working hard to push forward our vision for interactive entertainment in a truly living world," said Sam Houser, founder of Rockstar Games.  "We hope to deliver players an epic experience that builds upon everything we've learned making games."

The trailer is scheduled to go live at 11:00 AM Eastern on Thursday, October 20.

Our Take
Red Dead Redemption was Game Informer's top rated Xbox 360 game and second-highest rated PlayStation 3 game, so this is huge news. PC fans won't be happy they are again left out of the wild western romp but I can't wait to learn more about this game.
