Upcoming Steam Update Will Expand PlayStation 4 Controller Support
Valve is currently hosting its Steam Dev Days developer conference in Seattle. During the conference, Valve’s Jeff Bellinghausen revealed that an upcoming Steam update will soon expand its controller options for the PlayStation 4's DualShock 4 controller.
In short, this means that players will be able to tailor their games to use Sony’s PS4 in a variety of new ways. For example, you’ll soon be able to use the PS4’s touchpad and gyro features as inputs for games that you play through Steam. Co-presenter Lars Doucet, developer of Defender’s Quest, said, “Believe it or not, when you use the PS4 Controller through the Steam API, it’s exactly the same as a Steam Controller. You make the exact same API calls, you only get actions, not inputs, and the Steam API takes care of everything.”

This is actually really cool. I usually use the Xbox One controller while playing PC games, but if I'll soon be able to use the PS4's touch pad for various gaming shortcuts, I might have to convert.
