by Suriel Vazquez on Sep 23, 2016 at 07:40 AM

At this year's Call of Duty XP event, Infinity Ward revealed the beta period for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare would begin on October 14. Today the company announced the exact schedule.

Players who pre-order the game on PlayStation 4 will be able to play the game starting October 14 at 10am Pacific, while Xbox One players who pre-ordered will be able to play the beta the following weekend, on October 21 at 10am Pacific. The beta will end on October 24 at 10am Pacific.

The exact scope of the beta (including the number of maps, Rigs, modes, and weapons) was not announced, but will be revealed "in the coming weeks," according to the press release announcing the news. You can read more about how Infinite Warfare's multiplayer will work in our recent preview.

Our Take
I can't say I'm a fan of console-exclusive betas, and giving Xbox One players only three days to mess around with all the new equipment in Infinite Warfare seems short. Here's hoping we a get a surprise extension of the beta.
