Human Teaches Dog To Throw Hadouken For National Video Games Day

by Suriel Vazquez on Sep 14, 2016 at 01:03 PM

For #NationalVideoGamesDay, Jess Bell decided to teach their dog how to throw a fireball in Street Fighter V. They Succeeded.

(Warning: strong language.)

In the video (shown below), the dog in question uses a Tournament Edition MadCatz arcade stick to perform the famous quarter-circle forward motion, as well as the press the buttons necessary for the fireball. The training mode screen shows the inputs on-screen, showing the motion being done live.

Although there's a suspicious clicking noise in the video, Bell assures the viewer it's actually the sound clicker used to train dogs. "You can see it in my right hand in the video. The only controller connected to the system is the arcade stick!"

Our Take
I have a few pointers for this amazing canine. First, the execution leaves something to be desired, as the imprecision of the inputs actually produced an EX fireball. Second, you're going to want to work on your speed, as other fighting game-playing dogs won't give you so much time to input the motion. Third, were you aware you are a good dog?
