Super Mario World is one of the most beloved Super Mario games in the world. We ranked it as the best Super Mario game back in March
This week's Did You Know Gaming? video covers some the more obscure facts about the game. According to the video, Super Mario World was originally conceived as a remake of Super Mario Bros. 3 for the Super Nintendo. As the company began tinkering with the limits of the system, they eventually began building on that initial idea until it became Super Mario World. In fact, early screenshots of Super Mario World featured Mario in Raccoon suit, which was later cut from the game.
The video (found below) also covers the origins of Yoshi and why the Chargin' Chucks wear football outfits but throw baseballs.
