Clubs Come To Xbox One Preview Program

by Matthew Kato on Sep 06, 2016 at 12:52 PM

Microsoft has announced that Preview program members can now experience Clubs and the Looking For Group (LFG) feature, with the Arena online tournament platform coming at a later date.

Clubs are user-created groups (including creating a name and designating an admin) that further facilitate chat and parties, and which can share content.

As the name designates, Looking for Group is a community posting that announces you're seeking like-minded gamers, perhaps for a certain co-op challenge or mode. Requirements such as which game you're playing or gear needed can be posted. Gamers can browse LFGs if they're looking for action as well.

Preview members will also experience emojis on the Xbox One virtual keyboard, and an Achievement leaderboard that is "faster and more reliable." The latter will reset at the beginning of each month instead of encompassing a 30-day rolling period.

Our Take
The clubs and LFGs don't sound like ground-breaking features, but they do seem like small steps that can make a big difference in friends sharing a common experience and getting like-minded players together.
