Hacking Group Claims Responsibility For EA Server Outage

by Joe Juba on Aug 31, 2016 at 11:57 AM

If you've been trying to play EA games online this afternoon, you've probably been having problems. That's because of a DDoS attack on the publisher's servers, which has impacted its games' online functionality.

Earlier today, EA tweeted about the problems, notifying players of the outage.

PoodleCorp has previously claimed responsibility for similar attacks on Blizzard's and Riot's servers. The outage is particularly inconvenient for Battlefield fans, since the beta for Battlefield 1 kicked off today.
