No Plans For PSVR Version Of Adr1ft, Out Today On PS4

by Jeff Cork on Jul 15, 2016 at 04:45 AM

Three One Zero's space adventure Adr1ft was one a highlight of the Oculus Rift's launch, letting players navigate through a derelict space station in zero gravity. PC players could choose to experience the game in VR or through a traditional display, but PlayStation 4 players won't have that option.

The PS4 version of the game is available for download from the PlayStation Story today for $19.99. If you were interested in checking out the game via the PlayStation VR headset when the hardware arrives on October 13, however, it appears that you're out of luck. According to publisher 505 Games, "There are no plans to bring Adr1ft to PSVR at this time."

Our Take
As I mentioned in my review for the PC version of the game, Adr1ft features some incredible VR effects. That's not to say that players won't still find a fascinating and worthwhile adventure on PS4 now that they'll only be able to play in 2D. Still, it's a bummer that players who are planning to take the PSVR plunge have one less game to look forward to on the platform.
