PSA: Don’t Walk Off A Cliff While Playing Pokémon Go Like These Guys Did

by Mike Futter on Jul 14, 2016 at 10:50 AM

Remember all those schadenfreude videos of people throwing their Wii remotes through their televisions? This is like that, but with actual bodily harm.

Two men in Encinitas, California, were so enraptured by Pokémon Go that they fell approximately 75 to 100 feet. Both sustained injuries in their falls.

One was located on the side of a bluff and rescued using ropes and harnesses. The other was found on the beach below. Both required medical attention at the Scripps La Jolla Trauma Center.

Remember kids, you can always replace that Grimer. You can’t replace the cognitive function lost by head trauma due to a fall. Trust us, that’s super effective at ruining your life.
