August Cover Revealed – E3 Hot 50

by Matt Bertz on Jul 05, 2016 at 06:13 AM

Now that the dust has settled on another E3, we have a better perspective on where the games industry is headed in the near future. With new console announcements, another big virtual reality push, and several new game reveals, we had a lot of ground to cover in roughly 90 pages. Our August 2016 issue distills the expo into a potent collection of stories that tells you everything you need to know about emerging technologies and ranks the 50 games we think had the best showing.

We kick off the coverage issuing our yearly grades to Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony. Our E3 trailers feature breaks down everything we know about debuted games like Death Stranding, Mass Effect: Andromeda, Prey, and Spider-Man. And finally, the E3 Hot 50 features several multi-page previews on titles like God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, South Park: The Fractured But Whole, and of course The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

To celebrate the annual gaming extravaganza, we commissioned the talented artist Alex Griendling to create two unique covers starring two of the biggest stars of E3 2016 – Kratos and Link. Check out his impressive work below:

In addition to our E3 blow-out, we also have reviews of several recent releases like Inside, Zero Time Dilemma, and Insomniac's Lovecraftian virtual-reality title Edge of Nowhere.
