Remedy Has Two Games In Development, But Neither Is Alan Wake

by Mike Futter on Jun 08, 2016 at 04:15 AM

Remedy won’t be at E3 this year, and don’t expect the studio at Gamescom either. With Quantum Break still freshly released, it’s far too early to expect something on display. However, there are games in the works.

The developer has announced that it has added a second team. There are two games in progress right now. One is in collaboration with a “new partner” and the other is in the concept phase.

Unfortunately, neither of these are Alan Wake. Remedy isn’t abandoning the author, though.

“Finally, we feel that it’s important to set the expectations right and let you, the fans, know that neither of the two projects currently in development is an Alan Wake game,” writes head of communications Thomas Puha. “We’re working on something else, but at the same time we’re exploring opportunities in other mediums to tell more Alan Wake stories.”

Our Take
A “new partner” hints that Remedy might not be working with Microsoft on the new project (even though Quantum Break is currently the “biggest-selling new Microsoft Studios-published IP” on Xbox One). I’m an unabashed Remedy fan, so I’m eager to see what the studio has in store.
