Smite Releases On PlayStation 4 Later This Month

by Elise Favis on May 28, 2016 at 01:50 PM

Hi-Rez's MOBA Smite is leaving its PlayStation 4 beta and launching on the console in full later this month.

Originally released in 2014, Smite plays from a third-person perspective just like Epic Games' Paragon. In the game, you take the form of an ancient mythological god, such as Zeus or Kukulkan, the Mayan Serpent of the Nine Winds. You defeat your foes with a range of godly powers and legendary weapons.

Senior producer Andy Anderson says in his PlayStation blog post that, "Already, millions of PS4 gamers have tried Smite during our ongoing beta test." As a result, a bevy of changes are being added, including a frame rate of 60 FPS, 5v5 Clash and Siege modes, and four new gods bringing the total to 75.

Smite releases for PlayStation 4 on May 31. The game is already available in full on Xbox One and PC.
