Rumor: No Man's Sky Delayed

by Kyle Hilliard on May 25, 2016 at 04:16 PM

Rumors and marketing materials are pointing to a possible delay for Hello Games' ambitious space exploration game.

Kotaku is reporting, based on an unnamed source and photos of GameStop marketing materials [Disclaimer: GameStop is Game Informer’s parent company], that No Man's Sky has been pushed back. The photos show marketing instructions requesting the release date of No Man's Sky on assorted in-store posters be covered with a "coming soon" button.

No Man's Sky was given a June 21 release date back in March.

We've reached out to Sony and Hello Games for confirmation and will update this story if we receive a response.

Our Take
Hello Games is a small team and No Man's Sky is a big game, so a delay is certainly not outside of the realm of possibility, but until we receive official confirmation of a delay,
this is strictly rumor.
