The Fifth Transformers Film Is Officially Called The Last Knight

by Brian Shea on May 16, 2016 at 03:55 PM

The fifth film based on the popular Transformers franchise now has an official name. Transformers 5 is called "The Last Knight" and begins production in June.

The Transformers film franchise has been a roller coaster for many fans. After a decent debut that garnered a 57% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the series has spun out and lost a lot of goodwill with its fan-base despite still raking in money at the box office. The most recent film, Transformers: Age of Extinction, holds just an 18% on Rotten Tomatoes, but still grossed over $1.1 billion worldwide.

Transformers: The Last Knight once again stars Mark Wahlberg, who took over lead duties from Shia LaBeouf following the third film in the franchise, Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Michael Bay also returns for this entry as director.
