Mighty No. 9 Delayed One More Time, Now Coming June 21

by Mike Futter on May 02, 2016 at 05:27 AM

Mighty No. 9 isn’t going to make its “Spring 2016” release, the promise made after the game’s third delay in January. It’s now coming in late June.

Comcept says this one is the real deal, and the game has now “gone gold.” Once again, creator Keiji Inafune apologizes for keeping fans waiting for so long.

In fact, it’s been three years since the Kickstarter. When it finally arrives, assuming no more delays, it will be 14 months late.

Two delays ago, Inafune promised that the game wouldn’t suffer any more setbacks. Maybe this time we’ll see if it can live up to Mega Man’s legacy, but not on Vita or 3DS. Those versions are still coming later.

It’ll be out first on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, Mac, and Linux. Look for it on June 21. Really.

Our Take
Inafune and Comcept have been masters of dropping the ball in terms of communication. Hopefully the long wait has been worth it, because after so many delays, Inafune and Comcept have a tall order to fill.
