Online Multiplayer And An Expansion Are Coming To Rock Band 4
At PAX East today, Harmonix announced that an expansion is coming to Rock Band 4 this fall, and that synchronous online multiplayer will be added to the game as of the holiday season.
Harmonix community manager Criss Burki wrote in her PlayStation Blog post that, "We’ve heard our community loud and clear — as one of our most commonly requested features, it’s time to bring online multiplayer to Rock Band 4."

Rock Band 4 is also receiving a paid expansion pack, which will include new sorting options for the music library and the ability to rate songs. Details are thin at this point, but Harmonix promises more news will surface during this summer's E3.
Other news coming out of PAX East is that an adapter for Rock Band 4 on Xbox One will be released alongside the expansion pack this fall, allowing players to use Ion drums. In May, double bass support for drums will arrive as well.
More DLC tracks are on their way, including "What I Like About You" by The Romantics, "Redneck" by Lamb of God, and "Dope Nose" by Weezer.
In June, Harmonix will be adding a practice mode that will allow players to rehearse difficult songs at their leisure and slow down the song's pace if needed.
