The Banner Saga Joins Origin Access Next Week

by Elise Favis on Apr 03, 2016 at 05:19 AM

The tactical RPG The Banner Saga, created by former Bioware developers, is joining EA's The Vault on Origin Access next week.

Based on EA Access for Xbox One, Origin Access is a PC subscription service that includes a growing section called The Vault, which gives full access to certain games for $4.99 a month. Subscribers also receive a 10% discount on all Origin purchases and early access to some titles. The Banner Saga will arrive on Origin Access by Tuesday (April 5), and will be free to subscribers.

Stoic Games' The Banner Saga released two years ago, and aside from this PC version, it is also available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation Vita, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android. You can read our interview with its developers here as well as check out our review.

Our Take
Origin Access is still fairly new, and so far has predominantly been a library of games Electronic Arts published, with some exceptions like This War of Mine. It's nice to see another indie game joining the limited but growing selection of games available on the service.
