Official Shadow Of The Beast Remake Gets A Release Date

by Connor Trinske on Mar 30, 2016 at 08:40 AM

After many months without any information, the Shadow of the Beast remake finally got some new details today. The Sony-published title is arriving exclusively on PlayStation 4 on May 17.

A number of changes have been made to the game since we last heard about it. The development team is now targeting 60 frames per second and has honed the combat for optimal response times. The monstrous protagonist has also received a new upgrade system and additional mystic artifacts, like the gun that you see above.

Shadow of the Beast was originally made famous on the Commodore Amiga with its revolutionary production values at the time, and the Sega Genesis port is renowned as one of the hardest games of the era. The PS4 remake will be available for pre-order in the near future.

Our Take
It was surprising and exciting to see a new Shadow of the Beast game back when this remake was announced, but it fell by the wayside due to the lack of new info until now. It's definitely good to know that the development team has been working hard on it and that it now has a concrete release date.
