Ed Boon Is Hinting At Something Big For Mortal Kombat XL

by Mike Futter on Mar 29, 2016 at 11:33 AM

OK, let's recap. Mortal Kombat X had a season pass filled with four characters and a bunch of skins. Then, it got a second one with four more characters and skins. Alternatively, new players could nab Mortal Kombat XL with all the goodies.

There was a catch, though. The PC version was all but abandoned. No second season pass or other updates were coming.

That brings us to today, as NethreRealm creative director Ed Boon has teased some "big news" for Mortal Kombat XL.

Now, this could be a lot of things. It could be eSports related, another live-action show, or even more DLC.

The gap that we can see right now that would make the most sense to fill is PC support. Whether that's what this is or not will have to wait a bit. But if you happen to playing via Steam, there might be hope for you yet.

Our Take
I'm not always fond of running teases of announcements, but Ed Boon typically delivers when he drops hints. With the PC version given the short shrift, it would be great to see that changed.
